If there was anyone who needed a "Jet2 holiday" vacation, it's Deion Sanders.
The Colorado Buffaloes coach has dealt with many things over the past year, which could be a chapter on its own in the Hall-of-Famers' ongoing football career. From the highs of having a Heisman Trophy winner and 9-4 finish in 2024, NFL Draft slide with his son, beating cancer, more blood clots, and now in the midst of a 3-6 record. Needless to say, it's been a lot all at once.
The latest news from Boulder was met with mixed reactions this week. Sanders reportedly demoted offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur and stripped him of play-calling duties with freshman five-star Julian Lewis getting his first start. The sudden switch came after a series of blowout losses with CU giving up 105 points in the past two games.
Sanders took to social media with a cryptic four-word message on Friday morning. "Pray for them Regardless!" he wrote on X. There was no indication of what situation Coach Prime might be referencing.

— COACH PRIME (@DeionSanders) November 7, 2025Colorado is against the ropes going into West Virginia, needing to win out in the final three contests to secure a bowl bid. Both three-win Big 12 teams are looking for an edge in the postseason eliminator. This may also be a major point of reflection for Sanders' team, who started the season 2-2 with only one win in conference play.
Colorado faces West Virginia on Saturday (Noon ET, TNT).
