Danielle Collins gives health and career update, reveals egg freezing journey

Danielle Collins recently shared a major health and career update with fans. The American revealed that as she recovers from the back injury that she suffered at the tail end of her season, she has also been undergoing an egg freezing journey.

Collins has been a prominent name on the WTA Tour for some time now. She first rose to fame in 2018, when her breakthrough run at the Miami Open saw her become the first qualifier to reach the semifinals of the event. Since then, the 32-year-old has claimed a runners-up finish at the Australian Open and risen to a career high rank of World No.7.

In 2025, Danielle Collins struggled to string together strong performances in the first half of the year and a back injury cut short the latter half of her season. Recently, the American shared an update about her life with fans on Instagram, writing,

“Wanted to come on here and give everyone a little update since everyone has been asking! I've been taking the last few months off to recover from the back injury I had at the end of the season. I've also been undergoing a few egg freezing procedures. It's been one of the coolest things I've honestly ever done! But at the same time these hormones I have had to be on are a real b***h.”

She went on to extend her gratitude to the people who've supported her through this process and announced that she would be missing the first half of the 2026 season as she has to undergo yet another procedure.

“I am so fortunate for the friends that have been helping take care of me during this time. I have one more procedure to go. With all of this, I will not be competing during the first part of the year. But you will be seeing me in a different capacity with @tennischannel. This is all I will be sharing for now. More updates to come.”

Over the course of her career, Danielle Collins has amassed a large following with her impressive gameplay on court and her vibrant personality away from tennis. The American shares regular behind-the-scenes glimpses of her life on social media, often giving fans an update on her training, romantic life, vacations and more.

Most recently, Collins shared snaps of her retail therapy on Instagram. The 32-year-old posted photos of herself posing with flowers and enjoying champagne as she shops. She captioned the pictures,

“Flowers and retail therapy. Cheaper than real therapy right!? Just kidding.”

On the tennis end of things, Danielle Collins was last seen in action at the US Open. The American crashed out of the event in her opening round match after suffering a straight sets defeat against an unseeded Jaqueline Cristian.
