The Dallas Mavericks face the Minnesota Timberwolves on the second night of a back-to-back on Monday, with multiple injury issues. Dallas remains without Anthony Davis, who has missed nine games due to a left calf strain. According to the latest injury update, the star forward will be out for at least seven to 10 more days.

Marc Stein reported on Sunday that owner Patrick Dumont will monitor Davis' progress and recovery with the Mavericks' medical staff. He will only play once they clear him to suit up. The medical staff feared that Davis could reinjure himself and tear his Achilles tendon, leading to Dumont's involvement.

Anthony Davis won’t be reactivated by the Mavericks, as league sources conveyed earlier this week, until the team’s medical staff recommends to owner Patrick Dumont that Davis should be cleared.

Rookie Cooper Flagg is also dealing with a nagging injury. Flagg has a right thumb sprain. He's wearing a brace to play through it and has yet to miss a game. Flagg will be day-to-day but is likely to suit up again. He shared on Sunday that he has to wear the brace for four to six weeks while his injury heals.

Cooper Flagg shares that he will have to wear this brace for around 4-6 weeks regarding his right thumb sprain.

The Mavericks also face looming concerns around Daniel Gafford and Dereck Lively II's availability. Gafford reinjured his ankle in overtime on Sunday. He had been nursing the injury throughout training camp and preseason. Gafford also made his season debut on Nov. 1 after missing five games.

He's played nine straight since. However, Gafford sparked concerns about his status for Monday's game. Here's what he told reporters on reaggravating his injury on Sunday (via Dallas Mavericks reporter Mike Curtis):

“(It's) not the best, but I’m an Arkansas boy. We just gonna put this in mud & get back to it the next day."

He added that he will travel regardless of his status:

"That's the idea. Every day is an important day. Whether I'm there or not, just making sure I'm doing everything I can to motivate the team...Whether if I'm away from the team or with the team. We'll see."

Daniel Gafford reaggravated his right ankle in OT of tonight's game. Asked him about it after the game.“(It's) not the best, but I’m an Arkansas boy. We just gonna put this in mud & get back to it the next day."Asked if he plans to travel for Monday's quick B2B in Minnesota:"That's the idea. Every day is an important day. Whether I'm there or not, just making sure I'm doing everything I can to motivate the team...Whether if I'm away from the team or with the team. We'll see."

Meanwhile, Lively played his second game since returning from a knee injury on Sunday. He played on a minute restriction and was fouled out in 12 minutes. With Monday's game being the Mavericks' first back-to-back since Lively's return, he could be iffy to play as well.

Kyrie Irving and Dante Exum will remain sidelined for the Dallas Mavericks. Irving is recovering from an ACL surgery, and Exum is managing a knee injury. The Mavericks have no timetable for either guard.
