Cristiano Ronaldo reacts as Kylian Mbappe shares throwback photo alongside him after matching his Real Madrid record

Former Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo has reacted after Kylian Mbappe posted an old photo of them together. This comes after Mbappe equalled Ronaldo's record for the most goals scored by a Los Blancos player in a calendar year (59).

In a post via his official Instagram handle, Mbappe shared an inspirational message, tagging the five-time Ballon d'Or winner. He wrote:

"Believe in your dreams. Big up 👑 🐐 @cristiano."

Cristiano Ronaldo responded:

"🙌 🔥."

Mbappe was one goal away from matching Ronaldo's record ahead of Real Madrid's encounter against Sevilla on Saturday, December 20. The game was likewise Los Blancos's final game of the 2025 calendar year.

Kylian Mbappe has revealed that Cristiano Ronaldo is his friend and role model. He went on to reveal he dedicated his goal against Sevilla to the Portuguese star who has helped him adapt at the Santiago Bernabeu.

In an interview after Real Madrid's 2-0 win over Sevilla, Mbappe said (via Fabrizio Romano on X):

"Cristiano is my friend and my idol. The celebration was dedicated to him. Cristiano helped me to adapt here. I want to send him my best wishes, a Merry Christmas, and a happy New Year."

Mbappe paid tribute to Cristiano Ronaldo by hitting the iconic SIU celebration after scoring against Sevilla. He's likewise the LaLiga top-scorer, having scored 18 goals in 18 games this term.

Los Blancos are ranked second in LaLiga standings, having registered 42 points from 18 league games this season. They will return to action in the LaLiga against Real Betis on Sunday, January 4.
