The Dallas Cowboys need defensive help.
And if they can't pull off a trade for Maxx Crosby, there's a great alternative in free agency: Trey Hendrickson.
The former Cincinnati Bengals star recently bid farewell to Cincy on social media, so he clearly isn't going back there.
Hendrickson will have plenty of suitors, but ESPN's Mike Tannenbaum was asked to make a bold prediction for this month, and his was that the Cowboys will end up signing Hendrickson.

The Dallas defense was clearly lacking a season ago without Micah Parsons. Hendrickson isn't quite on that level, and he's coming off an injury-plagued season, but he's still a standout edge player.
In 2023 and in 2024, Hendrickson totaled 17.5 sacks apiece. He's got 81.0 in his NFL career.
"He would help to buttress their pass rush, which fell over the cliff after the Micah Parsons trade," Tannenbaum writes. "Hendrickson was injured for much of last season, but when healthy, he is still one of the best pass rushers in the league."
The main problem here is the Cowboys' lack of cap space. They've already made it clear they plan on some contract restructures this offseason, which would essentially create space temporarily.
The money gets paid out eventually, but restructures would push it down the road and make it easier to potentially land Hendrickson.
The Cowboys don't usually make huge free agent splashes. Jerry Jones most often extends guys he already has to big new deals.
Hendrickson would be worth an exception if Dallas can figure out how to make it work.
