In a breaking report, much has been spoken about the future of WWE SmackDown amidst controversial changes.
In a report on Wrestling Observer Live, Bryan Alvarez addressed the future of WWE SmackDown and the fact that the promotion was in for a big change. He talked about how the show would move to becoming a three hour show for six to seven months, after which it would likely move back to two hours again.
"I can't say this 100%, but I can tell you that there's a feeling within WWE that this is going to be very similar to what happened this year. Which is, in 2026, it's gonna move to three hours, it'll probably be that way for six/seven months, and then it will go back to two hours again for the remainder of the year.He spoke about Braun Strowman's show beating NXT and Dynamite right now and that the should would be continuing until the end of 2025.

"The Braun Strowman show is beating NXT and Dynamite, that's how well the Braun Strowman show is doing. I think the Braun Strowman show goes through the end of the year."He then went on to say that after SmackDown would go back to two hours after six or seven months like it had earlier this year, then the company would be looking for another WWE star produced show for the third year.
"So when the show ends, I guess they're gonna move SmackDown back to three hours again, and then they're gonna try to find some other show involving a WWE talent that they can then put on halfway through 2026, and then (SmackDown) would go back to two hours, and away we go."Braun Strowman's show is huge for WWE and USA Network
Bryan Alvarez went on to talk about how well Braun Strowman's show was doing. He said that the star was a big name to wrestling fans and the show itself was good, leading to fans just choosing to watch it after SmackDown.
"I think this has something to do with, right now they've got two hours and the two hours is followed by the Braun Strowman show. The Braun Strowman show is doing freakin' great - number one because Braun Strowman is involved and he's a big name to wrestling fans, and also apparently it's a really good show, and it goes right after SmackDown."He did not talk about the shown being renewed in the future at some point.
