Connecticut Sun vs Washington Mystics Preview

The Connecticut Sun started their season with five straight losses but have found some life over the past week. They have two wins in their last three games, beating the Indiana Fever and the Atlanta Dream.

However, the Sun are dealing with multiple injuries and will be without Rayah Marshall, Lindsay Allen and Leila Lacan, while Olivia Nelson-Odada is listed as questionable due to an ankle injury.

Meanwhile, the Mystics are at full strength, with Georgia Amoore (ACL) being their only absentee. Washington is in desperate need of momentum after losing three games in a row, twice to the New York Liberty and once to the Indiana Fever.

The Mystics won their last game against the Sun 90-85 in May, following a 27-point performance from Brittney Sykes. So, Sunday’s game could go either way.

Mystics rookie Kiki Iriafen is off to a hot start, averaging 9.9 rebounds per game through her first nine games. She had her way with the Sun during their first meeting on May 17, finishing with 17 points and 14 rebounds. She will likely surpass her rebound prop of 8.5 on Sunday.

Meanwhile, veteran guard Brittney Sykes is also off to a solid start this season. She has recorded 20+ points in six of the Mystics’ eight games. Sykes recorded 27 points on 8-for-13 shooting in her last game against the Sun and is likely to surpass her points prop of 21.5.

Connecticut Sun vs Washington Mystics Prediction

There’s not a lot separating the two teams, but the Mystics should pull ahead on Sunday. The Connecticut Sun have four players on their injury report and seem ill-equipped to take on the Mystics.

Our prediction: The Mystics to win
