The Washington Commanders have been one of the most surprising teams of 2024. They jumped out to a 7-3 record and are in position to reach the postseason for the first time since 2020. They've already exceeded expectations for the first year of the Adam Peters-Dan Quinn regime.
The emergence of Jayden Daniels has helped push Washington back into relevancy. While they've been impressive, they still have glaring holes to address once the offseason comes around. The Commanders got a head start one of those positions, trading for cornerback Marshon Lattimore ahead of the deadline.
How about providing Daniels with another weapon to target next year? Ryan Wilson of CBS Sports released a mock draft where Washington selects Ohio State wide receiver Emeka Egbuka with the No.23 overall pick.
With the addition of Marshon Lattimore, the secondary is less of a need. But with Dyami Brown, Noah Brown and Olamide Zaccheaus all on expiring deals, adding Egbuka would make a lot of sense. He does everything well and is a beast after the catch, reminding me a little of Amon-Ra St. Brown.
Being compared to St. Brown, one of the league's best receivers, is a major compliment. Egbuka's game-breaking ability paired with former OSU product Terry McLaurin would give the Commanders a lethal one-two punch. It'd be tough for defenses to cover this potential duo, especially with Daniels being the one delivering the passes.
