Jayden Daniels of the Washington Commanders (7-4) remains the odds-on favorite to win NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year for the 2024 season, even after two consecutive losses.
But the door remains open for a few emerging standouts in the AFC.
After Daniels endured a setback on Thursday night against the Philadelphia Eagles, Bo Nix of the Denver Broncos went out on Sunday and had his best game thus far as a pro. Nix threw for 307 yards and four touchdowns while leading Denver to a dominant 38-6 victory.
As a result, Daniels' OROY odds now range from between -400 to -750 while Nix's are between +300 and +500. That's considerably closer than the race was last week, when Daniels' odds ranged between -1200 and -3000.
Additionally, there's a third name to consider who could become a dark horse down the stretch. That would be Las Vegas Raiders tight end Brock Bowers, whose odds have dropped as low as +2000.
Bowers remains a long shot, given that no tight end has ever won the NFL's Offensive Rookie of the Year award as well as the fact that the Raiders are a dismal 2-8. He's having a historic rookie season for a tight end, though, well on his way to eclipsing Mike Ditka's all-time rookie record of 1,076 receiving yards.
Daniels is still highly likely to win Offensive Rookie of the Year, but it won't be the cakewalk it once seemed to be. He'll need to pick up his play again down the stretch, or else Nix and Bowers might be nipping at his heels.
