The Washington Commanders apparently don't subscribe to the idea of, "What have you done for me lately?"
Because the guy they just cut had four catches for them just eight days ago.
But on Monday, the Commanders released WR Robbie Chosen from the practice squad.
Chosen had been elevated from the practice squad for the Week 7 game against the Dallas Cowboys, and he caught all four passes that were thrown his way.

Now before the Commanders play in Week 8 on Monday Night Football, Chosen has been cut loose.
He's the wideout formerly known as Robby Anderson, and it's a tough break for him.
The Commanders needed Chosen a week ago because Terry McLaurin and Deebo Samuel (along with Noah Brown) were out with injuries.
The MNF game against the Kansas City Chiefs will feature both McLaurin and Samuel making their returns from injury, though, so Chosen wasn't going to need to be called up.

And the Commanders needed that practice squad spot for a kicker.
Starting kicker Matt Gay is out Monday night due to a back injury.
Washington didn't have another kicker on its roster or practice squad, so the Commanders had to sign Matthew Wright. Since the practice squad was full, someone needed to be cut. That was Chosen, with Wright taking his spot before being elevated to the gameday roster.
The Commanders could conceptually sign Chosen back after getting through the kicker situation, if they want. Chosen could also opt to look elsewhere for a new practice squad spot.
It's certainly not how he pictured his week going so soon after being a solid contributor for the Commanders.
