The Pittsburgh Steelers have made an addition to their wide receiver room.
Fittingly, it's one of Aaron Rodgers' old friends.
According to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, the Steelers are signing Marquez Valdes-Scantling, who played with Rodgers in Green Bay.
MVS was originally a fifth-round pick of the Packers in the 2018 draft out of USF.

He spent the first four seasons of his career with the Packers, putting up these lines:
- 38-581-2
- 26-452-2
- 33-690-6
- 26-430-3
Valdes-Scantling led the entire NFL in yards per catch in 2020 at 20.9.
In 2022, Valdes-Scantling left for the Kansas City Chiefs, and he won two Super Bowls with Patrick Mahomes while grabbing 63 passes across the two years.
He began the 2024 season with the Buffalo Bills and finished it with the New Orleans Saints.
Valdes-Scantling went to the San Francisco 49ers to begin the 2025 season. He has played in five games this year, catching 4-of-8 targets for 40 yards.

It's not clear exactly what his role will be with the Steelers.
The top-two WRs of DK Metcalf and Calvin Austin should be secure, and given the Steelers play a lot of multi-TE sets, there isn't a ton of time for other wideouts.
Youngster Roman Wilson caught a touchdown on Sunday night and likely will remain in the picture, too.
But there's a chance Valdes-Scantling can still provide a deep threat for Rodgers. That's what the Steelers are hoping for.
