Cody Rhodes will defend his Undisputed WWE Championship against Drew McIntyre at Saturday Night's Main Event XLI. After falling short at Wrestlepalooza, The Scottish Warrior has another opportunity to dethrone The American Nightmare.
McIntyre may end up winning the Undisputed WWE Title after a babyface superstar inadvertently costs Rhodes the bout this Saturday. The name in question is Jimmy Uso, who paid a visit to the blue brand last week to find out who attacked Jacob Fatu.
The Samoan Werewolf was mysteriously taken out backstage before his number one contender's match against McIntyre two weeks ago. In the opening segment of last week's SmackDown, the Scotsman, who is the prime suspect in this whole situation, proposed that it could be Jimmy Uso who attacked Jacob Fatu.
Big Jim was furious about this, as he ended up attacking The Scottish Warrior. This led to a No DQ match between Jimmy and McIntyre in the main event, which the Scotsman won. After the bout, McIntyre continued attacking the Samoan before Cody Rhodes made the save.

After what went down last week, Jimmy may not be done with The Scottish Warrior. Moreover, he most likely believes McIntyre is the culprit behind Jacob Fatu's attack and could attempt to exact revenge on the Scotsman this Saturday.
However, it could backfire. While dealing with Drew McIntyre, Jimmy could end up costing Cody his title. The Scotsman could take advantage of the chaos and pin The QB1 to become the new Undisputed WWE Champion.
That said, while it could be exciting, this angle is purely speculative at this point.
Former WWE writer reveals original plan for Cody Rhodes' title defense at SNME XLI
Drew McIntyre was reportedly not the planned opponent for Cody Rhodes at Saturday Night's Main Event, according to former WWE writer Vince Russo.
Speaking on an episode of Sportskeeda WrestleBinge's Writing with Russo, WWE's former lead writer revealed that Jacob Fatu was initially slated to face The American Nightmare this Saturday. However, The Samoan Werewolf had to get some dental work done, which sidelined him for several weeks.
"There was supposed to be a match between him and Jacob Fatu, but Jacob Fatu, I think, needs some type of serious dental work or something, so he's going to be out for a while. So he's on the shelf, so Drew's back in the spot," Russo said.It will be interesting to see who walks out of Saturday Night's Main Event as Undisputed WWE Champion.
