Cody Rhodes' former rival outside WWE to cost him the Undisputed Title in huge twist? Possibility explored

Cody Rhodes and SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis had a tense segment in the ring on the latest edition of the Friday Night Show. Aldis informed the WWE Champion that he would have to strip him of his title if he put his hands on Drew McIntyre.

The Quarterback of WWE had an unexpected reaction to this, as Rhodes took verbal jabs at Aldis and undermined his authority. The National Treasure seemed quite unhappy with the WWE Champion's behavior, and could take a drastic step in the coming weeks.

While Rhodes has gotten away with bending the rules during his last few matches, he might not be as lucky in his upcoming title defense against Drew McIntyre. Unhappy with Rhodes' verbal tirade, Nick Aldis could take matters into his own hands and cost The American Nightmare his title, rekindling their feud from their days in the NWA.

Shocking title change taped for last SmackDown - Watch Now!

This would not only allow Aldis a valid reason to step back into the ring, but it would also be a huge twist. Drew McIntyre has repeatedly accused Nick Aldis of protecting Rhodes as WWE's golden boy. If Aldis chooses to cost Rhodes his title, he could refute these allegations in a stunning twist.

While this scenario seems likely after the latest episode of WWE SmackDown, it remains speculation.

Cody Rhodes broke down in tears after conversation with WWE legend

The latest edition of the 'What Do You Wanna Talk About?' podcast featured Cody Rhodes having a conversation with John Cena. It was the 17-time world champion's first public appearance since his retirement match against Gunther at Saturday Night's Main Event. Rhodes broke down after Cena praised him for being an all-rounder:

“Your work ethic is aspirational…You’re a family man. A dedicated father. A wonderful husband. You've got people to support and that support you. And sometimes that helps, but, like, you are juggling so much more than I ever possibly could. So, thank you for overstaying [on the podcast episode]. You gave me another 35 minutes. It’s not lost on me. And a lot of me wanting to milk this is just, I miss my friend, and I wanted a conversation with my friend. I love you, too. Thanks so much for this time. And man, you’re doing it. You’re doing it. And I’m so f*cking proud of you."

Cody Rhodes was visibly emotional at SNME after John Cena lost his retirement match, and is seemingly the last pure babyface in the company following Cena's swan song.
