Coach Prime reveals the internal “dad battle” over showing up for Browns QB son Shedeur Sanders' debut vs. Raiders

Deion Sanders has mixed feelings about traveling to Las Vegas to watch his son, Shedeur Sanders, debut as the Cleveland Browns starting quarterback on Sunday against the Raiders.

On Thursday, Coach Prime said that he does not want to be a "distraction" on his son's big day. However, at the same time, his fatherly instincts want him to be there to support the rookie quarterback.

"I don't know (if I'll attend the Browns vs Raiders game)," Coach Prime said. "I haven't made up my mind yet. I've been urged to go. I'm pretty sure he wants me to go. You know how you want to be out of the way. "You don't want to be his distraction. But not that I would ever be, but then you think, you know, he came all the way up there to see you. So, that's even a shorter trip to go see him. You start thinking that as a dad. Because you know what it would mean to him if he just gets a glimpse of you before he walks out."

Last Sunday, Shedeur Sanders replaced Dillon Gabriel in the second half after he suffered a concussion. In his first game for the Browns, Coach Prime's son completed four of 16 passes for 47 yards and no touchdowns with one interception and two sacks. However, they ended the night with a disappointing 23-16 loss at home.

With Gabriel in concussion protocol, the Browns will have to rely on Shedeur Sanders as the starting quarterback in Week 12.

Raiders RB Ashton Jeanty sends warning to Shedeur Sanders ahead of Week 12 showdown

During Wednesday's press conference, Raiders rookie running back Ashton Jeanty had a warning for Shedeur Sanders ahead of his debut as the QB1 of the Browns.

The 2024 Doak Walker Award winner said that this is a "great opportunity" for Coach Prime's son to make a statement in the NFL. However, Jeanty highlighted that the Raiders defense won't make it an easy game for him.

"I got to know him (Shedeur) pretty well," Jeanty said. I am excited for him. (It) should be a great opportunity for him, but I know my defense gonna come ready to attack him so he better be ready."

The Browns are 2-8 heading into Week 12's contest against the Raiders. Can Shedeur help bring an end to his team's three-game losing streak?
