Clippers are now set up to trade Darius Garland again

The Los Angeles Clippers just got Darius Garland earlier this year when they sent James Harden to the Cleveland Cavaliers to get much younger at point guard.

But after Sunday's NBA Draft lottery, there's a very real path in which Garland gets traded again.

The Clippers wouldn't have had a first-round pick if Indiana's selection stayed in the top-four. Instead, it ended up at No. 5, and that became the Clippers' spot thanks to the Ivica Zubac trade.

The fifth pick is one of the most fascinating spots in this particular draft class, as long as the top-four plays out as expected. Most view this draft as having a clear first four picks, in some order consisting of AJ Dybantsa, Darryn Peterson, Cameron Boozer and Caleb Wilson.

If that happens, all the draft's top point guard prospects are still available, and there are a bunch.

"The choice should be pretty simple," ESPN's Tim Bontemps wrote in a new article after the lottery. "Choose whichever of the exciting young point guards -- Arkansas' Darius Acuff Jr., Louisville's Mikel Brown Jr., Houston's Kingston Flemings and Illinois' Keaton Wagler -- that they like the most, given that's the consensus second tier of prospects outside of Duke's Cameron Boozer, BYU's AJ Dybantsa, Kansas' Darryn Peterson and North Carolina's Caleb Wilson at the top of the draft."

Acuff and Flemings are probably viewed by most analysts as slightly ahead of Wagler (less athleticism) and Brown (back injury troubles in his lone college season).

All four, though, have a case to be the top point guard in the class.

The Clippers will have some serious work to do, and then if they draft one of these guys, they'll have to decide what to do with Garland.

"The real interesting thing for the Clippers is what they'll do moving forward," Bontemps writes. "Will they forge ahead with a backcourt of one of these rookie guards alongside Darius Garland, whom they acquired for James Harden at the trade deadline? Would they potentially look to move Garland? And what about Kawhi Leonard's future, with just one year remaining on his deal? The offseason just got a lot more interesting for the Clippers."

There are certainly some big decisions ahead for the Clippers, beyond just which point guard they draft.
