As one of the biggest and richest clubs in England, it is a shock that Tottenham Hotspur have been embroiled in a relegation battle down the stretch run of the 2025/26 season.
Spurs have been miserable throughout much of the domestic campaign, even as they reached the Champions League Round of 16.
Now fighting for their Premier League lives, Tottenham are pushing to avoid catastrophe with Roberto De Zerbi now aboard as the club's third manager of the season.
The Sporting News looks at where they stand in the hunt for Premier League safety, who they have on the horizon, and what they need to remain safe from relegation.

Tottenham 2025/26 Premier League run-in fixtures, schedule
Tottenham have a difficult finish to the Premier League season. While they don't face any clubs in the top five of the standings, they still have a few tricky fixtures to navigate.
The run-in began on April 12 with a road trip to 11th-place Sunderland, who had won two of their previous three and generally impressed throughout the campaign. It was no great surprise to see the Black Cats claim a 1-0 victory.
Next came a home game with Brighton and Hove Albion, a team on a three-game winning streak on the road and with only one league loss in seven. Twice Spurs took the lead, the second one a fabulous Xavi Simons strike, but the game ended 2-2, Georginio Rutter scoring a 95th-minute equaliser.
Joao Palhinha's late goal snatched a first Premier League win of 2026 for Spurs at already relegated Wolves and backed that up with a 2-1 victory over an Aston Villa side with one eye on their Europa League semifinal second leg against Nottingham Forest.

What do Tottenham need to avoid relegation?
Impressive late-season form from Leeds and Nottingham Forest means Tottenham's fight for survival is now essentially a race to the finish with West Ham.
West Ham's heavy defeat at Brentford means it is almost certain that if they finish level on points with Spurs, then Roberto De Zerbi's side will have the advantage. Their home defeat to Arsenal means Spurs could put four points between themselves and the drop with two games to play if they can defeat Leeds.
Burnley and Wolves in 19th and 20th have already had their relegations confirmed.
