With just one race remaining until NASCAR crowns its 2025 Cup Series champion, Kyle Larson’s crew chief, Cliff Daniels, told Bob Pockrass of FOX Sports that Larson has unfinished business. The former Cup champion has won three races this season, but Daniels believes that he can win more.

This year, the championship is going to be a showdown between two of the winningest teams in NASCAR: Hendrick Motorsports and Joe Gibbs Racing. Larson, who is currently in his fifth year with Hendrick Motorsports, sits fourth in the championship standings with 14 top fives and 21 top-10s. Addressing Kyle Larsons Cup Series journey Daniels told Pockrass (via FOXSports).

“He (Larson) certainly is leaning into trying to maximize everything he can in the Cup Series, and in a way, he feels like he has a little bit of unfinished business. And I kind of do as well for our team, of knowing how competitive we've been and certainly scored some wins, we feel like there's more wins to go get.” "And of course, neither of us is satisfied just having one championship. So I think that's what keeps him motivated and certainly me and his team as well,” he added.

Kyle Larson won his maiden Cup Series championship back in 2021, his first full year with Hendrick Motorsports. Besides Larson, William Byron, driver of the No. 24 Chevy Camaro, will also attempt to bring the title back to the HMS camp, thus bringing an end to Team Penske’s three-year champion streak.

All eyes are now on Phoenix. The 312-lap event is scheduled for Sunday, November 2, and will be televised on Peacock starting from 3 pm ET. Fans can also listen to its live radio coverage on MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.

Kyle Larson reveals why he will not shoot for a specific number of wins, unlike fellow Cup Series driver Denny Hamlin

Denny Hamlin, also a championship contender this year, won his 60th race just a few weeks ago at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. As a matter of fact, it was this win that secured his spot in the Championship 4. However, Kyle Larson, who is 12 years younger than Hamlin, doesn’t have a number in mind.

In a recent interview, the Elk Grove native explained his stance on the same. He thought that it was easier for Hamlin to have 60 as his target number because he is closer to his retirement from formal, full-time racing.

“I'm still so young, I don't feel like I'm anywhere close to the end," Kyle Larson explained. "So for Denny. I think it's easier for him to pick 60 as his number that he wanted to get to because he's much closer to the end than I am.” "I'm just going to try and do the best job I can. And wherever those numbers end up, they end up,” Larson continued. “And as I approach the end of my career, we'll see what that end number might look like.“

Right now, Kyle Larson’s focus is on winning more races for Hendrick Motorsports. He is a 32-time race winner at the NASCAR Cup Series level. And if he wins at Phoenix Raceway this coming Sunday, it will tie him with Fireball Roberts for 28th on the all-time wins list.
