Chiefs vs. Broncos weather forecast is concerning for fantasy football championships

The Denver Broncos and Kansas City Chiefs will wrap up the Christmas Day slate when they do battle at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium on Thursday night.

As is always the case this time of year, it's important to check weather forecasts for games to make sure nothing will impact the play on the field.

Rain, snow, heavy wind and cold temperatures can all have a negative impact for certain positions on the field, although those things can also be a plus for other positions.

Ahead of the Thursday night contest between Kansas City and Denver, here's a look at the weather forecast for the AFC West matchup.

Chiefs vs. Broncos weather forecast

According to AccuWeather.com, the cold will not be an issue in this contest, as it's slated to be 55 degrees or warmer throughout. Precipitation will not be an issue, either.

However, we aren't totally out of the woods for this contest, as the wind gusts are expected to hit upwards of 24 MPH, with sustained winds anywhere from 14-15 MPH.

When winds gusts hit over 20 MPH, that can negatively impact quarterbacks, pass-catchers and kickers.

On the flip side, running backs could thrive in this situation should the wind impact the passing attacks and force both teams to lean more on the run.

All that said, the forecasted wind gusts aren't the worst we've seen this season, so this presents only a mildly-concerning situation and isn't enough for us to drastically change our fantasy football lineups in Week 17.
