Alex Pereira seemed to a jab at rival Magomed Ankalaev on social media to reassert his dominance over the Russian.
Ankalaev came into UFC 320 as the light heavyweight champion, a title he shockingly took away from Pereira at UFC 313.
The lead up to the fight saw Ankalaev taunt Pereira several times. The Russian also brought up the alcohol problems Pereira had to overcome, and this added more spice to the rivalry. There was also a jab at Pereira’s old job of working in a tire shop.
However, ’Poatan’ silenced Ankalaev with a brutal win at UFC 320 with the fight barely going the first full round.

Pereira has taken several jabs at the former champion ever since and did the same recently on Instagram. The current champion posted his finish from UFC 320 with a simple message which seemed to be aimed at Ankalaev:
"Just to remember CHAMA 🔥"Check out Alex Pereira's Instagram post below:
There were suggestions that Ankalaev came into the UFC 320 fight with an injury. However, Pereira has taken shots at those claims too with the Brazilian also reportedly fighting at UFC 313 while not at 100%.
While Pereira keeps taking shots at Ankalaev, he seems to be moving on to bigger things with his next target a legend.
Alex Pereira eager to face Jon Jones
Alex Pereira is possibly the biggest name in the UFC right now, and the Brazilian has called out Jon Jones for a fight.
Jones hasn’t fought since defeating Stipe Miocic in 2024. However, there seems to be a lot of mutual respect between the American and Pereira.
‘Poatan’ called out Jones for a heavyweight clash after Tom Aspinall’s first title defence ended in a no-contest at UFC 321.
Jones reciprocated the calls for a fight and wanted it to be at the grandest stage. The UFC is gearing up for a huge event at the White House in 2026, and ‘Bones’ has laid out an invitation to Pereira.
It is to be seen when the UFC confirms any fights for the White House card. Dana White deflated any talks of Conor McGregor already being on this card as he confirmed that discussions for the fight card will only start from February 2026.
