The Celtics had an underwhelming end to their season after blowing a 3-1 lead against the 76ers in the first round of the playoffs.

Neemias Queta exceeded expectations in his role as a starter, but the Celtics may still be searching for more depth at the center position this offseason.

Recent reports suggest they could be targeting a former Warriors player who won two titles with the franchise in the past decade.

The Stein Line reported, “It's believed that [Kevon] Looney is also on Boston's list of center targets."

The Pelicans recently decided to decline Looney's $8 million team option on the final year of his contract, making him an UFA.

Looney, 30, played in just 21 games this past season. He could be a cheaper option at the center position for the Celtics, but a valuable one, considering it would be a low-risk signing for a player who has thrived on the big stage before.

The Celtics will likely look at several other options among bigs, as we've already heard names like Robert Williams III float around.

Unless the Celtics commit to trading for a more expensive/versatile center, they may have to opt to sign a cheaper type of player like Looney because of their financial situation.
