The bright lights of the NHL playoffs don't bother Lane Hutson.
The Montreal Canadiens defenseman is on a prolific pace to start his postseason career, outdoing even Bobby Orr in the early going.
The key stat is this: Hutson has 19 points through his first 19 career playoff games.
That ranks third all time, behind just Adam Fox (Rangers, 22) and Al MacInnis (Flames, 21), according to Frank Seravalli.
Hutson is tied for third on the list with Brian Leetch (Rangers).
Most notably right below Hutson, having scored 18 points through 19 career playoff games, is the legendary Bobby Orr.
Two other greats scored 18 in their first 19 postseason games: Ray Bourque and Quinn Hughes.
Chris Chelios scored 14 through his first 19 playoff games.
Active stars Erik Karlsson, Evan Bouchard and Cale Makar all scored 13 points through 19 career playoff games.

This really just emphasizes the level of talent Hutson has. It can be hard for players to adjust to the speed and intensity of the playoffs. Hutson hasn't had that problem.
Instead, he looks right at home on the ice, making plays for himself and his teammates.
When you can align or even better Orr on a historical list, that's about as good as it gets for a defenseman.
