Earlier this week, Roger Goodell opened up on Pittsburgh's readiness to host the 2026 NFL draft.

“You are definitely ready. You know, this town knows all about football, and how to celebrate football, and that’s what it’s all about,” Goodell said to TribLive news partner WTAE on Monday before the Pittsburgh Steelers vs Detroit Lions Week 15 MNF game. “This is a community I know a lot about, and I can’t wait. Looking forward to it.”

The 2026 NFL draft will run from April 23-25. The event in Pittsburgh will be held in different locations on the North Shore, including Acrisure Stadium (home of the Steelers) and Point State Park, which will feature a large fan festival.

Goodell has served as the NFL Commissioner since September 2006. In October 2023, he signed an extension to continue in his role through March 2027.
