The Indiana Fever waived two players — rookie Bree Hall and WNBA vet Jillian Alleyne — on Monday, one day after they each made their Fever debut against the Brazilian National Team in a preseason exhibition game. This leaves the team with 13 players on their training camp roster and, ultimately, 12 spots available.

— chris (@chrisclxrk) May 6, 2025Rookie Makayla Timpson was drafted at the No. 19 overall spot during this second round of the WNBA Draft. The FSU graduate has held her own so far this preseason, and many supporters are hopeful she will have staying power. That's a tall order for a team that doesn't have a lot of cap space, but Timpson has received a lot of praise for her performance so far.
On top of that, Tuesday's practice footage revealed she's already earned a nickname on the squad — or, at least, Caitlin Clark has given her one. As Clark bounces a pass Timpson's way, she calls out, "KK!" before Timpson lays the ball up.

It's a small moment but it's an impactful one, especially when one considers how tough it can be to make a WNBA roster in the first place. Fans of Timpson have reason to be cautiously optimistic.
