Broncos urged to trade for Cowboys' All-Pro to give Bo Nix a true No. 1 WR

This offseason, the Denver Broncos have some work to do on the offensive side of the ball. Bo Nix is a good starter, and they have some solid pieces along the offensive line and in their skill position groups.

But with Evan Engram and J.K. Dobbins both free agents, the tight end and running back positions need help. And even with a returning WR corps, the Broncos could still look to improve the wide receiver room, especially if they can acquire a true number one WR.

Kristopher Knox of Bleacher Report is urging the Broncos to find such a player in current Dallas Cowboys wide receiver George Pickens. The All-Pro would finally give Nix a true number one option and make the Broncos offense truly dangerous in 2026.

Broncos urged to acquire George Pickens

"The Broncos, who have $26 million in projected cap space, would have an easier time locking up Pickens than the Bills would," Knox writes. "However, they too might need to part with a first-round pick to get a deal done..."

Acquiring Pickens this offseason is only likely to be done by trading valuable assets to the Cowboys after they franchise tag him before he hits free agency.

While the Cowboys will likely try to keep him, with so much money already invested into CeeDee Lamb, the Broncos, or a team like the Buffalo Bills, could swoop in with a great offer that the Cowboys would have a hard time refusing.

Trading for Pickens would mean the Broncos are also willing to extend him, which will cost well north of $30 million per year.

They have the cap space to make such a deal work, and with Nix on a rookie deal, there's no time like the present to acquire someone as good as Pickens.

One of the positives for the Broncos in a potential Pickens trade would be that they would be able to trade one of their young receivers, Marvin Mimis or Troy Franklin, as part of the deal to acquire Pickens.

Of course, the Cowboys would first need to entertain trades for such a trade to even be feasible. But if the Broncos can make a trade work, there's no reason why they shouldn't pursue Pickens this offseason.

Knox is listing the Broncos as one of the teams that should pursue the second-team All-Pro this offseason, even if it costs a bit. The Broncos have the ability to go all-in now, and adding someone like Pickens would be a fantastic way of doing so.
