Gardner Minshew is set to lead the Kansas City Chiefs offense against the Tennessee Titans on Sunday. He will take over Patrick Mahomes, who suffered a season-ending ACL injury in last week's loss to the LA Chargers.

Minshew arrived at Nissan Stadium wearing a brown leather jacket over a black denim shirt and light-wash blue jeans. He completed the look with brown leather shoes and sunglasses with a coffee cup in hand.

"Minshew Mania," the Chiefs tweeted.

Here are more fan reactions.

"tell me why i thought this was max martin😭🤣🤣," a fan commented. "Billy Ray Cyrus - cut your hair," one fan tweeted. "When did AJ styles become our backup qb?" another fan commented.

Minshew took over under center late in the fourth quarter in Week 15. Rather than burning time and forcing overtime with a field goal, the quarterback threw a deep pass, which was intercepted. Kansas City lost 16-13 and was knocked out of the postseason race.

Mahomes sustained his injury while avoiding pressure. He was tackled by Chargers defensive lineman Da'Shawn Hand.

Gardner Minshew's conversation with Patrick Mahomes ahead of game vs. Titans

Gardner Minshew shared that he has been talking to Patrick Mahomes as he prepares for the Week 16 game.

"He's been great, man," Minshew said to repoters on Wednesday. "As soon as he's been figuring everything out, he's been texting the QB room. Very positive, trying to get the guys fired up, getting everybody ready to go. That dude still wants us to win. That's what he care about, and it's awesome that we have a leader like that."

Minshew added that he has a lot of respect for Mahomes and is confident that the three-time Super Bowl champion will be back stronger.

Minshew sees Sunday's game as an opportunity to step in and do his job. He said he owes it to his teammates, the coaching staff and Chiefs fans.
