Brian Thomas Jr. trade rumor from NFL Network is bad news for Giants, 49ers, Chiefs, Raiders

It sounds like the Jacksonville Jaguars have no intentions of moving on from wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr.

Teade rumors surrounding Thomas began arising during the first week of free agency, and though the young wideout had a down year in 2025, the Jaguars plan to hold on to him in 2026.

NFL Network's Cameron Wolfe stated on Friday that an AFC franchise called Jacksonville about Thomas, and the interested team got the sense that the Jaguars aren't going to trade the 2024 Pro Bowler.

"I checked around the league, one AFC team told me they called Jacksonville about Brian Thomas Jr. and they told me it went nowhere," Wolfe reported "They said there's no discussion going on from there."

Thomas struggled in 2025, but during his rookie year in 2024, he tallied nearly 1,300 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns.

Moving on from a talent like Thomas after one mediocre season doesn't make any sense. Additionally, Jaguars general manager James Gladstone shut down all the trade rumors surrounding his budding star receiver, calling them "fraudulent."

"I know the word 'reputable' came up earlier [in a previous question]. I don't think there's been any reputable statement [that the Jaguars were shopping Thomas]," Gladstone said. "We don't have any real action on any of those fronts. And you think back to where we landed at the end of the season, where our passing attack was, we have no interest in disrupting the momentum.
