Breece Hall reveals update to trade request from Jets after NFL deadline

3 hours ago 2

The New York Jets had a busy trade deadline day, but one of the moves they didn't make surprised the media, fans, and the teams alike. Breece Hall stayed in New York despite the plethora of trade rumors surrounding the star running back.

Those trade rumors as the deadline neared were fascinating, with speculation that Hall had requested a trade from the Jets. His reaction to the trades of Sauce Gardner and Quinnen Williams, that he was "sick" but happy for them, hinted that he was interested in a trade.

But, as Connor Hughes of SNYtv reports, Hall revealed whether he actually requested a trade or not, and it's not the expected answer.

Jets' Breece Hall reveals truth behind trade request

"Breece Hall said he never requested a trade from the Jets," Hughes reports. "But doesn't say yes or no on whether he wanted one (as reports said)."

While Hall might not have gone to the front office and requested a trade, like he said, Hall knew he was in trade talks and was amicable to a potential trade.

If Hall were traded, he likely would've gone to a playoff contender. Leaving the 1-7 Jets to join a team like the Kansas City Chiefs would've been a great chance for Hall to get a taste of the playoffs. But, he said he didn't request a trade, even if he might have been open to a deal.

So far this season, Hall has 117 carries for 581 yards and two touchdowns. He's also added 21 receptions on 30 targets for 178 yards, showcasing his dual-threat ability.

Aaron Glenn and Darren Mougey made some major moves at the deadline, but Hall, who's in the final year of his rookie deal and will be a free agent, wasn't traded.

Even though he didn't request a trade, Hall was seemingly open to a trade. He didn't get moved, but could look to find a new team once he's a free agent after the 2025 season comes to a close.
