After cryptically sharing his thoughts on the New York Jets trading teammates Sauce Gardner and Quinnen Williams, Breece Hall has offered a more direct reaction to the trades. Safe to say, he's not happy.
Shortly after Tuesday's NFL trade deadline, Hall went on X (formerly Twitter) and said that he was "sick" about the trades. Regarding Gardner and Williams going to better teams, Hall clarified "happy for them" before reiterating that he was "sick."
It's not surprising to see Hall react this way. First, it can't ever be easy to see two teammates get traded. Second, reports emerged on Tuesday that Hall also wanted to be traded, which did not happen. At 1-7, the Jets already have the worst record in the NFL. The loss of Gardner and Williams makes it hard to think the rest of the season will be any better. We can hardly blame Hall, or anyone on the Jets, for feeling like they're in an already bad situation that's about to get worse.
The good news for Hall is that the end could be nearing. Hall will be a free agent at the end of the season. Despite the team's struggles and that they've consistently been playing from behind, Hall has 581 rushing yards on the season, good enough for 12th in the league. So, he should have plenty of interested suitors in the offseason.
But in the meantime, his frustration is understandable.
