The Atlanta Braves made a ton of roster moves this offseason as they look to get back to being a contender in the NL East.
They added Robert Suarez, Raisel Iglesias, Ha-Seong Kim, Mauricio Dubon, Mike Yastrzemski, Jonah Heim, and Jorge Mateo. While they lost Marcell Ozune, Nick Allen, and Pierce Johnson, the additions far outweigh the subtractions.
However, even though ESPN's David Schoenfield gave the Braves a "B+" for this offseason, the injury issues piling up for the Braves might have this grade age poorly before the season even begins.
Braves 'B+' offseason grade might already age poorly
Schoenfield called the said the Braves had a "worthy, quality offseason." But, there is just one issue coming up with this praise and the lofty "B+" grade: injuries.
"Unfortunately, the injury bug has already hit. Kim tore a tendon in his finger in January and will probably sit out a couple of months," Schoenfield writes. That's not the only injury the Braves are dealing with.
Spencer Schwellenbach is going to miss the next two months with bone spurs in his elbow, and he might miss a large chunk of the 2026 season as well. Hurston Waldrep is also hurt with an elbow injury and is heading to the 60-day IL to begin the season.

The Kim injury is already making this offseason feel a lot worse than a "B+" grade, as he was their biggest signing at $20 million per-year, and yet he's going to miss a large chunk of the season.
With the pitching injuries, the Braves' lack of rotation additions this offseason might come back to haunt them. Add on Kim's injury, and this offseason doesn't really feel like the "B+" grade they received from Schoenfield.
While, on paper, this was a solid offseason, it's hard to imagine this "B+" grade holding up throughout the season.
