The Atlanta Braves should be able to contend in 2025, but they have some big questions to answer before Opening Day rolls around.

Atlanta doesn't need to add many big pieces this winter. The Braves have a lot of talent under contract for the 2025 season and beyond. Atlanta could contend in 2025 as long as it is a little healthier.

The Braves certainly could add a little bit, and the biggest question around the team right now revolves around the starting rotation. Will the Braves lose All-Star Max Fried this winter? That's certainly a big possibility.

There have been rumors for months about where he could go. It has seemed likely that he would end up leaving after spending the last eight years with the Braves. While this is the case, Bleacher Report's Zachary Rymer urged the team to consider a new deal and mentioned the Braves among the top options for Fried on his list of 10 teams.

"Projected 2025 Rotation: Chris Sale, Reynaldo López, Spencer Schwellenbach, Griffin Canning, Ian Anderson," Rymer said. "The door shouldn't be closed on Fried returning to the Braves. President of baseball operations Alex Anthopoulos is a "big fan" of the lefty, and he has also hinted at a higher payroll for 2025.

"However, this is the same franchise that basically shrugged when Freddie Freeman and Dansby Swanson reached free agency. The general vibe with Fried feels similar, and whether Atlanta even needs him back in its rotation is debatable."

Hopefully, the Braves can find a way to get a deal done. He will be expensive, but he's worth it.
