Brad Keselowski has hinted at plans to expand beyond NASCAR and possibly join IMSA. The RFK Racing co-owner suggested that he could use Ford's 2027 Le Mans Hypercar if it ever competes in the United States.

If Keselowski's comments turn into reality, it could mark a return to IMSA roots for his three-car NASCAR outfit. The team's co-owner, Jack Roush, initially began by fielding championship-winning IMSA cars in the 1980s. He later transitioned to NASCAR and settled in the sport.

In an interview at Phoenix Raceway, Brad Keselowski addressed the situation and said(via Jayski),

"Ford is building a Hypercar for 2027 that is going to compete at Le Mans, and maybe the United States. And if it competes in the United States, I’d like to own that team.”

IMSA’s WeatherTech Championship runs some of the world's biggest endurance races at tracks like Sebring and Watkins Glen. If RFK Racing enters the sport, it'll run as part of the SportsCar Championship’s GTP class.

Brad Keselowski clarifies stance on Cup Series amid IMSA effort

Brad Keselowski remains clear on his intention to continue in the Cup Series. The 41-year-old finished the 2025 season with a runner-up placing at Phoenix Raceway, and he had two other second-place finishes throughout the year. Furthermore, he scored multiple top-10s in the playoffs, much like his RFK Racing teammate, Ryan Preece.

The NASCAR team began the season low on pace, but it gathered enough momentum to lead a formidable charge in the final stretch of races. Reflecting upon the growing progress, Brad Keselowski said,

I don't want an off-ramp driving the Cup Series. I love the Cup Series. I'm happy with that. But I do want to be a part of an IMSA team. And that's class," "You know, yet to be seen as to whether Ford will come to North America, but they've announced plans to race in Europe with that car and a lot of speculation. And we'll see what happens. But if the opportunity opens up, RFK would love to be a part of it," he added.

Compared to past seasons, RFK Racing has endured a middling season this year. Brad Keselowski and Chris Buescher each won a race last year, while they also made the playoffs in 2024. This time around, the team appears to be one step short of contending for wins.

Ryan Preece had a fairly decent bid for the playoffs this year. He was among the frontrunners during the regular season finale at Daytona International Speedway. However, a final stage manoeuvre by Hendrick Motorsports created a third racing lane that split his run and derailed his momentum. He ended up 14th on the running order after starting outside the top-30.
