Pokemon Legends Z-A Ranked Season 2 is live and will be running from November 5, 2025, at 10 pm PST to November 25, 2025, at 9:59 pm PST. This new season further reinforces new and in-depth strategies in the real-time four-player online battles format. Keep in mind, only Pokemon listed in the Lumiose Pokedex numbers 001-229 are eligible for battle.

All Pokemon will automatically be set to Level 50, regardless of their original level, and only one Pokemon of the same species can be used on a team.

If you are looking for balanced teams to glide through Pokemon Legends Z-A Ranked Season 2, here are some of the most effective lineups to consider:

Best teams to run in Pokemon Legends Z-A Ranked Season 2

1) Xerneas, Garchomp, and Lucario

This lineup revolves around Xerneas, the Gen VI Fairy-type Legendary Pokemon that can wipe out teams. Once it uses Geomancy to buff its stats, its STAB Moonblast does a huge amount of damage, capable of sweeping through most opponents with ease.

The Ground/Dragon Garchomp handles the Poison- and Steel-types that have an advantage over Xerneas. Its Mega Evolution and raw attack stats make it an excellent counter to threats like Metagross.

Lucario completes the trio by covering Garchomp’s 4x weakness to Ice-types. Apart from that, it is a solid pick that makes any team better. Lucario can also Mega Evolve which offers team flexibility.

2) Yveltal, Excadrill, and Meganium

Xerneas’ counterpart, Yveltal dominates among the Dark-types. The Dark/Flying-type Legendary sustains itself pretty well thanks to Oblivion Wing, which both deals damage and restores its own HP.

Yveltal’s Electric and Fairy weaknesses are effectively managed by Excadrill, whose Ground/Steel typing provides both offensive and defensive presence. This Subterrene Pokemon also brings strong utility with versatile moveset like Iron Head, Rock Slide and Earthquake, which further gets powered with Swords Dance.

Meganium’s Grass-typing (Grass-/Fairy-type when Mega Evolved) provides great coverage, allowing it to support both teammates and counter some of their weaknesses.

Excadrill and Meganium are a well-balanced defensive duo that complements Yveltal’s offensive nature.

3) Scizor, Gyarados, and Garchomp

This team is aggressive and flexible. Gyarados is the team’s main attacker, and once it Mega Evolves, its increased stats and new typing gives it a huge advantage. Mega Gyarados is weak to Electric and Fairy-types which Garchomp and Scizor effectively handle.

Both Scizor and Garchomp are strong physical attackers that can pressure opponents early on. Both have great offensive typings backed by solid stats with the potential of Mega Evolution.

That said, this trio does have some glaring 4x weaknesses to Fire, Electric, and Ice-types. Managing your switches is essential to keeping this lineup effective. If played strategically, though, this team can cruise through opponents with sheer offensive synergy.
