Drew McIntyre hasn't had a good few months in WWE, after coming up short to Cody Rhodes several times and failing to capture the World Championship, to now being suspended for attacking an official.
The former World Champion invaded the main event of SmackDown last week and took out the referee with a Claymore, which led to Nick Aldis making the decision to suspend him, but didn't put a time frame on the announcement.
McIntyre has now taken to social media where he has referred to the current era as "Ruthless Depression," something that WWE fans have recently been using to refer to the era under Triple H.
It's clear that McIntyre is in tune with the internet wrestling community, and it could be the fans who push WWE to bring him back in the next few weeks.
It's unclear how long McIntyre's suspension is for, but a call for fans to hijack shows in his absence could force the company to not only reassess this decision but also the booking of McIntyre in recent months.
Drew McIntyre is out of the Undisputed WWE Championship title picture on SmackDown
It wouldn't be too far-fetched to think that Drew McIntyre could use this suspension as a way to make a move over to RAW.
There is nothing left for him on SmackDown now that Cody Rhodes has made it clear that he has moved on from their story. CM Punk is the World Champion on RAW at the moment, and it's common knowledge that McIntyre and Punk have a mutual dislike for each other.
McIntyre quitting SmackDown would have made more of an impact, but if he makes the move to RAW, it could heat up some issues between Adam Pearce and Nick Aldis as well, giving WWE numerous new creative options.
