A 36-year-old beloved world champion has been forced to retire. She has also been forced to vacate the title. She broke her silence and spoke out about the situation.

Ash by Elegance aka Dana Brooke opens up on her thoughts after giving up her title and retiring

Ash by Elegance aka Dana Brooke had to give up her title in the middle of what was supposed to be one of her biggest moments for the company as she became the Knockouts World Champion. She also confirmed that she was never going to be wrestling again, but retiring once and for all. The actual health condition remained undisclosed as she said that she was not going to be able to keep wrestling.

Speaking on a documentary with Fight Network and TNA Wrestling, she was even more heartbroken, confessing that she had wanted to do a lot more with the title but she was not going to be able to do any of it, and that was just a fact of life. The documentary was talking about her rise to the position of winning the title, and the hardships she had to overcome to get there, but the fact that she had to give it up like that was very difficult for her.

"I thought winning that title was hard. This was the hardest thing I ever had to do in my career. Going out there and being vulnerable to the crowd, being vulnerable to myself. I'm getting emotional now. That's what I said when I knew TNA was a family and that locker room was a family and that's what I'm going to miss. I'm going to miss that so, so much."

As far as the documentary was concerned, both Tommy Dreamer and the documentary stated that the reason for the retirement was "undisclosed health issues."

Dana Brooke says what's next for her after giving up the World Championship

Having given up the Knockouts World Championship, Dana Brooke has admitted that she does not know what's next for what happens from here.

"I don't know what happens from here, but my home is here. My home is in TNA. Feels so weird to take that last step out of those ropes and not have my title. I didn't know a title meant so much, but that ring means so much more. The message doesn't change. I said it in the start and I'm going to say it now. Never give up."

The former World Champion is expected to continue working with TNA but in more of a backstage role.
