The Chicago Bears had an incredible first season under new head coach Ben Johnson, but we need to continue to build on that success.
In the upcoming draft, the Bears will have some tough decisions to make, and one player they could take a look at is Ohio State standout Kayden McDonald.
According to Justin Melo, McDonald met with the Bears, and there seems to be real interest.
"I’ve been on Top 30 visits. I have one with the Bengals, New England Patriots, Las Vegas Raiders, Houston Texans, Miami Dolphins, Washington Commanders, Ravens, Bears. Every team that needs a physical defensive tackle has been in touch with me," he said.
He also met with them at the NFL Combine.
"I feel like I’ve been meeting with pretty much every NFL team. It’s a total blessing. Formal interviews, Zoom meetings, it really feels like it’s been every team (laughs). I had formals at the NFL Combine with the Los Angeles Rams, Los Angeles Chargers, Baltimore Ravens, Arizona Cardinals, Cincinnati Bengals, Denver Broncos, Minnesota Vikings, Carolina Panthers, Indianapolis Colts, Pittsburgh Steelers, Chicago Bears, and a few others."
During his time at Ohio State, McDonald was one of the best players in the country at making tackles behind the line of scrimmage. He also posted three sacks, two forced fumbles, and had an impressive nine tackles for a loss last year. Most scouts have him as a first-round pick heading into the 2026 NFL Draft, so the Bears would have to go that route.
