There is some bad news for WWE after John Cena's retirement. The GOAT wrestled his final match on December 13 at Saturday Night's Main Event, losing to Gunther.

WWE might have been banking on the fallout from the show and the controversy surrounding the finish to help boost its viewership for RAW. The promotion would have hoped to maintain its position in the Top 10 shows for Netflix globally.

However, despite Cena's selfless act and the heat on Gunther, RAW didn't manage to stay in the streaming giant's Top 10 worldwide. The update was provided by Tudum, which ranks Netflix’s Top 10 shows by weekly number of views, which it calculates by dividing the time all subscribers spent watching a program by its duration.

While the exact time viewers spent watching the December 15 episode of RAW isn't available right now, it wasn't good enough to keep WWE's flagship show in Netflix's Global Top 10. The show, which aired from Hershey, Pennsylvania, featured the Ring General boasting about his big win as well as the surprise reveal of Austin Theory as the masked man, who had been helping The Vision.

Rowan Atkinson’s Man vs. Baby was in the first place, followed by the fifth season of Emily in Paris in the second spot, while Anthony Joshua's win over Jake Paul was third. All five seasons of Stranger Things were again in Netflix’s Global Top 10.

Notably, RAW didn't feature in the global top 10 for two consecutive weeks, from November 24 to December 1. The show received 2.5 million views in total to rank 10th globally for its December 8 edition.

John Cena's last WWE match broke records

John Cena's final match for WWE against Gunther at Saturday Night's Main Event left fans with a bittersweet feeling.

However, the evening was a success from a business point of view for WWE. The event at the Capital One Arena, Washington, D.C., was attended by 19,232 fans and set the highest-grossing arena gate in the promotion's history. It was also the highest-grossing gate for the arena.

While WWE is now looking to the future, there is no denying the business impact and the drawing power John Cena still carried.
