Manchester City fans have expressed their delight at the performance of forward Phil Foden in the aftermath of their win against Borussia Dortmund. The Englishman scored twice for his side as they claimed a convincing 4-1 win over the Bundesliga side in their UEFA Champions League meeting.
Pep Guardiola named Foden in the starting XI for the visit of Borussia Dortmund after the 25-year-old recorded an assist in their league win over Bournemouth last weekend. The England international made his third appearance in the Champions League this season and marked it with a brace for the Cityzens.
Foden's display in the encounter left the club's fans excited, particularly given his struggles during the 2024-25 season. A section of the fans took to X to praise the playmaker for his performance at the Etihad Stadium.

Erling Haaland found the net for Manchester City as they claimed a convincing 4-1 win over Borussia Dortmund in the UEFA Champions League. The Cityzens climbed up to fourth in the league phase standings after their third win in four games in the competition.
Phil Foden opened the scoring for the Cityzens after just 22 minutes before Haaland scored his 27th goal for club and country this season seven minutes later. England international Foden scored his second of the game after 12 minutes of the second half, putting his side in complete control of the clash.
Borussia Dortmund pulled one back through defender Waldemar Anton after 72 minutes before substitute Rayan Cherki scored a fourth for Manchester City in added time. Guardiola's side have now won six of their last seven matches across all competitions.
