It's not rare to see trades on the final few days of spring training.
The Athletics and Tampa Bay Rays agreed to a deal on Monday, sending infielder Cooper Bowman to the Rays in exchange for right-handed reliever Gerlin Rosario.
Neither player has made their Major League debut, and Bowman is a former fourth-round draft pick of the New York Yankees in 2021 from the University of Louisville.
The 26-year-old spent most of last year at Triple-A Las Vegas, hitting .236 with six home runs and 21 stolen bases in 72 games. He was caught stealing just once, so the Rays are acquiring a speedster.
A's acquire right-hander from Dominican Republic
Rosario, 24, spent last year at High-A Bowling Green. He signed with the Rays as an amateur from the Dominican Republic and posted a 2.27 ERA in 47.2 innings in 2025.
Anthony Franco of MLB Trade Rumors projects that the A's will send him to Double-A at some point this season, so he's still a few years away from making an impact at the big league level.
By no means is this a franchise-altering swap for either club, but each respective organization clearly likes what they've seen from the player they acquired on Monday.
