Arsenal are not only looking to add multiple players to their roster this summer transfer window, but they are also keen to extend the contracts of their star players.

They have already signed a new contract with Gabriel Magalhaes and are also looking for extensions for some of the other players.

One such player who tops the priority list of extension has to be Myles Lewis-Skelly. The 18-year-old full-back had a breakthrough campaign for the Gunners last season, where he featured regularly for Arsenal.

As per reports via Sun and Football Insider's financial expert Stefan Borson, the Gunners are confident of tying down Lewis-Skelly with a long-term contract. The reports suggest that there's no way Arsenal will be ready to allow the teenager to leave the Emirates after his great rise to the senior team.

However, until the contract extension is signed, Arsenal fans will be in some fear as Real Madrid are reportedly lurking around the corner for the 18-year-old after his exceptional season.

Lewis-Skelly's current contract runs until 2026, and therefore, Los Blancos are interested in luring him away for free when his contract ends. Just like they did with Trent Alexander-Arnold.

A look at Lewis-Skelly's stats from the 2024/25 season

Lewis-Skelly showed maturity beyond his years in the 2024/25 season as he featured in 39 appearances across competitions. He was solid in defence and also did reasonably well in moving up the field.

Arteta, during a press conference, said that Lewis-Skelly is multifaceted and could feature in midfield in future. The youngster was predominantly a midfielder during his youth days, but he was up to the task when he was asked to step in at left-back.

Real Madrid were extremely impressed with the 18-year-old's performance in their Champions League quarterfinal clash against Arsenal. Therefore, they stepped up their interest after looking at his contract situation.

As per Squawka, he was the only Premier League defender to play 15+ games and not get dribbled past even once last season.

Lewis-Skelly played 23 matches in the 2024/25 Premier League and scored a solitary goal and created eight chances. He won 11 aerial duels and 81 ground duels whilst making 24 clearances. He also registered 53 ball recoveries and made seven interceptions and 24 clearances. Lewis-Skelly had a ridiculous 93.55% pass accuracy.
