Antonio Brown takes shot at media from afar as attempted murder warrant waits

Antonio Brown seemed to be blaming the media for his current predicament as the former NFL star faces attempted murder charges in Miami-Dade County.  

A warrant for the ex-wide receiver’s arrest was issued last week by a judge related to a May incident that occurred outside a celebrity boxing event. 

But Brown pushed the blame on the media in a post on social media, in which he screenshotted an alleged ChatGPT conversation in which he asked the service, “Is Antonio Brown being racial profiled?” 

Along with the screenshot, Brown posted a lengthy caption where he suggested “they” control the media, though he never specifies who exactly he is referring to. 

“How TF you go from being victimized [into an] attempt to murder,” Brown posted on X. “You see they control the media. Took a month to change the narrative. A year or 2 them dragging the narrative. Attempt to murder. You see they only want 3 types of n—-s. In America, in jail dead or dead broke.” 

Brown had ended the post with the hashtags “Black man” and “takedown.”

The incident occurred on May 16 and Brown had claimed that he was jumped in an attempted robbery outside the Brand Risk boxing promotion being put on by streamer Adin Ross.

Video from outside the event was posted online and showed Brown in a brawl with several men before falling to the ground. 

The video later cuts to Brown kicking a man on the ground before jumping to the sounds of gun shots and a second video showed Brown being led away by police, though he was later released. 

While Brown was trying to push the narrative that he was being treated unfairly, the warrant includes that police were able to obtain video that showed the former NFLer punching another man, identified as Zul-Qarnain Kwame Nantambu, and later taking a gun from a security officer before moving toward Nantambu, according to the warrant. 

“Mr. Nantambu stated Mr. Brown proceeded to shoot at him (possibly grazing him in the neck), placing him in fear for his life,” the arrest warrant stated. 

Nantambu told police that he had known Brown since 2022 and that there was a “verbal altercation” before things came to blows. 

A spokesperson for the Miami-Dade state attorney’s office said “the warrant speaks for itself” when reached by The Post for comment last week.

Brown has been traveling in the Middle East since the warrant was issued, though police do not consider him to be on the run. 

Brown has posted a number of social media posts from foreign countries in recent days and Miami Police Chief Manny Morales told the Miami Herald that its believed that the former Steeler is still in Dubai. 

Morales told the outlet that they have been in contact with Brown’s attorney and he is expected to be taken into custody when he returns to Florida.
