Netizens online have reacted to Ed Sheeran recommending fans to listen to Addison Rae's debut album, Addison. The album was released on June 6, 2025, through Columbia Records. It features 12 tracks, co-written by Addison, Elvira Anderfjard, and Luka Kloser.

For the unversed, Addison is a social media personality, singer, and actress. She has dropped multiple singles previously, but Addison is her first full studio album.

On June 7, Ed Sheeran spoke about Addison's new work in an Instagram reel uploaded on one of his accounts @teddysvinylbreakfast. The video was reshared by X handle @PopCrave, where the English singer can be heard saying:

"So, I've got Addison Rae's album. I've been listening to her for a while. My friend, Elvira, who works very closely with me, on my records, did most of this album. It is bloody fantastic. I think Addison is a superb pop star. And yeah, 'Diet Pepsi' was my favorite one. If you haven't checked out the record, go check it out."

Fans shared mixed reactions as Ed Sheeran urged fans to listen to Addison's music. One X user wrote:

"Another industry plant I’m tired" "Did her team pay him for this? sorry imo i just can’t get behind an entire debut album of head voice singing, every song… it’s safe and easy to do, and not a challenging vocal technique. like pls i wanna hear the chest vocal register from her to really hear her," another user commented. "“Diet Pepsi is my favorite one” he chose the most popular song aka he got paid to promote this! No way he listened to it," another user speculated.

Many users were also excited to see Sheeran praise Rae.

"Ed sheeran joining the pop girlie army, history in motion!" one fan wrote. "He knows pop perfection when he hears it," another commented. "It was shocking good! like I knew it was gonna eat but she left no crumbs, slayed all the other girlies - a no skips album for me," another user tweeted.

Addison Rae on how Charli xcx helped her make Addison

In 2024, Charli xcx asked Addison Rae to be part of the remix version of her song Von Dutch. They co-wrote the song, and Charli xcx invited Rae on the stage during her performance at Los Angeles' Shrine Auditorium, as reported by NME.

In an interview with GRAMMYs, published on June 6, 2025, Rae spoke about how that moment helped her gain confidence to release her singles and eventually the album. She said:

"To be honest, I think before I even started writing the album, [the] 'Von Dutch' remix had happened, and that was my first 'aha' moment as a songwriter, which was only last year."

Addison Rae continued:

"I was so shocked to have Charli trust me so much with the lyrics that I was writing. It was really the first time that I felt confidence in myself as a songwriter, because obviously Charli is so incredibly talented and has been in this industry for so long. I['ve] started to lean on myself as a songwriter since that moment."

Just two months after that stage appearance, Rae dropped Diet Pepsi in August 2024. She then rolled out multiple singles before her studio album, Addison.
