Ever since we heard the news that Tampa Bay Buccaneers receiver Mike Evans will be returning in 2026, but will be exploring his options, naturally, many think that means he will play elsewhere.
Of course, that is entirely true, and it has allowed the thought process to begin about which Super Bowl-contending teams could be interested in his services.
But for Buccaneers fans, the thought of Evans, a franchise great, not only playing for a different team for the first time in his career, but potentially winning a Super Bowl, isn't something they want to think about.
However, Sports Illustrated's Karl Rasmussen offered up one sentence from his piece on Evans' landing spots that might soothe the nerves.
"Just because Evans is going to explore his options in free agency doesn’t mean his departure is inevitable," Rasmussen wrote.

What will Evans do?
The biggest thing is, does Evans want to return to chase a Super Bowl? Because if so, then his time in Tampa is likely over, as Todd Bowles' team isn't in the hunt right now.
But if he wants to keep playing football with the franchise that gave him his start, and that he loves with all his heart, along with the locker room, then Tampa Bay wins the tug of war.
With reports stating Evans is set to meet with the Buccaneers in the coming weeks, there's a chance he remains a Buc in 2026.
But until that move is made official, the option that he moves on remains a very real possibility.
