Analyst makes bold Ravens prediction after Trey Hendrickson signing

Much has been made of the Baltimore Ravens' saga involving Maxx Crosby, which then led the franchise to Trey Hendrickson.

With the smoke still clearing from that odd situation, in the cold light of day, the Ravens got a stud pass rusher. Just not the one we thought.

Hendrickson swaps Cincinnati for Baltimore and joins Jesse Minter's defense as a key piece in 2026.

And for NFL.com's Jeffri Chadiha, he's named the Ravens' move for Trey as the second-best move in free agency and has a bold prediction if Trey can return to his All-Pro form.

"For all the ruckus caused by the Ravens pulling out of the trade with the Raiders that would've brought Crosby to Baltimore, landing Hendrickson isn't a bad consolation," Chadiha wrote.

"Hendrickson won't cost the Ravens valuable draft assets, and his four-year, $112 million contract will be money well spent if he creates the same level of chaos that was his trademark with the Bengals. If Hendrickson can reach double-digit sacks, this defense will probably return to its place as one of the best in the league."

Can Hendrickson transform Ravens defense?

Transform might to be too strong a word, but there's no doubt that his presence will help a Ravens defense that desperately needs it.

Ranked 18th in the league in 2025 (allowing 23.4 points per game), the Ravens' defense last season got lit up early in the year.

Granted, things evened out over the course of the season, but the damage was done.

With Travis Jones, Baltimore's leading sack-getter with 5.0, adding Hendrickson will surely boost Minter's unit.

It will be interesting to see how Trey fares coming back from injury, but if he can return to form, this will look like a superb move.
