Abdur-Rahim died at Tampa Generally Hospital on Oct. 24, 2024, just 10 days before USF's season opener. He checked into the facility earlier, undergoing a medical procedure related to an undisclosed illness. While undergoing the operation, Abdur-Rahim experienced complications, resulting in his death. He was 43 years old.
