Jose Alvarado jokes around with Josh Hart after his season-high 33 points

The New York Knicks entered Tuesday night's game against the Indiana Pacers looking to keep pace with the Boston Celtics for the No. 2 seed in the Eastern Conference.

After the Celtics defeated the Suns Monday, a win for New York would move them within one game of Boston.

That said, they were playing without guards Jalen Brunson and Miles McBride.

Luckily for the Knicks, they matched up against the worst team in the conference, as the Pacers are experiencing a down year after an NBA Finals appearance last season.

Throughout the game, New York feasted on the Indiana defense, finishing with six different scorers in double-figures.

One of those scorers was Josh Hart, who finished with a game-high 33 points on an incredible 12-for-13 shooting night from the field. 33 points marked a season-high for Hart, who also went a perfect 5-for-5 from three-point range.

He also added seven rebounds, five assists and two steals.

Another double-digit scorer, Jose Alvarado (16 points and 10 assists) spoke about Hart's play after the game. When asked if Hart could step up as a backup point guard in the absence of Brunson and McBride, Alvarado had a comical response.

"He can't handle no basketball. He just gets the ball and puts his shoulder down but he ain't no point guard. He just did good today, man."

With the victory, the Knicks have now won four in a row.

They'll have both Wednesday and Thursday off before facing their in-state rivals, the Brooklyn Nets Friday.
