Alexa Bliss is among the most popular babyfaces in WWE. The current Women's Tag Team Champion recently opened up about her alliance with fellow SmackDown star, Charlotte Flair, who has a total of 18 title wins to her name.
The Five Feet of Fury spoke to WrestleRant during the SummerSlam weekend before their win over Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez to capture the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship. However, the video of this three-month-old interview was only recently uploaded to YouTube.
During the conversation, Bliss claimed that she got to know a different side of Charlotte Flair after teaming up with her. She stated that the fans were resonating with their alliance because the two stars were having fun with each other despite their characters having clashing personalities.
"She has some jokes that she likes to throw out there that I wasn’t expecting from her. She’s made me laugh a couple times in the ring that I wasn’t ready for, which I love that because it’s fun to see her open up. It’s fun to see a different side of the Charlotte Flair character, [and] the Alexa Bliss character, and those coming together, I think, is what is resonating with people is that, 'Hey, we’re having fun, and this is a different side of Charlotte.' It’s a different side of Alexa, and to see those two personalities kind of clash, but in a good way, in a fun way," Bliss said. You can check out the entire conversation in the video below:
Alexa Bliss started having backstage interactions with The Queen, following WrestleMania 41. Several fans were critical of the Stamford-based promotion for pairing the two decorated singles performers. Another reason behind the skepticism was that while Bliss had been a babyface since her return, Flair was a heel during her WrestleMania feud against Tiffany Stratton.
However, the unexpected pairing soon became a crowd favorite in addition to their success as a tag team inside the squared circle. The duo has completed 100 days as the WWE Women's Tag Team Champions.
Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair will be in action on WWE RAW
Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss are set to be in action later tonight on Monday Night RAW in Boston, Massachusetts. The red brand show is being majorly advertised for John Cena's last appearance in his hometown and the first two matches of the Last Time is Now Tournament.
However, in another high-stakes match scheduled for the show, Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss will put their title on the line against The Kabuki Warriors. The two teams will clash for the first time since they started feuding a few weeks ago.
It will be interesting to see which duo comes out on top in the championship match.
