WWE Wrestlepalooza marked AJ Lee's return to the ring in the Stamford-based promotion in over a decade. However, she went on a sudden hiatus from the weekly product and was recently spotted in a current champion's post.
AJ Lee shocked the world with her long-awaited return to professional wrestling and signed a new contract with WWE under the Triple H-led creative regime. The Geek Goddess returned to in-ring competition and teamed up with her real-life husband, CM Punk, to defeat Becky Lynch and Seth Rollins.
However, she was absent from the weekly product following her win over the Women's Intercontinental Champion in a mixed tag team match. Recently, the current one-half of the World Tag Team Champion, Dragon Lee, posted a photo with AJ Lee backstage.
While it's hard to say when the picture was taken, the 30-year-old RAW star acknowledged the three-time Divas Champion amid her absence from the Stamford-based promotion and took a subtle dig at them having to share the same last name in wrestling.
When will AJ Lee return to WWE television?
After weeks of build-up, AJ Lee returned to the Stamford-based promotion for the first time in over a decade to defend her real-life husband's honor in Chicago. The Black Widow immediately went after Becky Lynch and set an example on Friday Night SmackDown.
This led to a mixed tag team match between the two real-life couples in the company at Wrestlepalooza in Indiana. After Punk and Lee won the match, many expected The Geek Goddess to go after the Women's Intercontinental Championship, and The Second City Saint continued his pursuit of the World Heavyweight Championship.
Instead, Lee went on a hiatus, and her absence was never properly addressed to the audience. However, AJ Lee could potentially return to the weekly product in the middle of November 2025, as Netflix advertised her for the 17th November edition of Monday Night RAW.
While it's only speculated as of now, the former three-time WWE Divas Champion could return for a storyline or a title match at WWE Survivor Series in San Diego, California, in the coming weeks.
