The former AEW World Champion, Chris Jericho got referenced by the Tony Khan-led promotion during ongoing rumors of him heading to WWE. Jericho has been absent from TV for the past several months.

Chris Jericho last appeared on AEW TV on an episode of Dynamite back in October. Y2J's contract with Tony Khan's promotion is reportedly set to expire at the end of this year as well. Ever since the reports about his contract, it has also been rumored that Jericho will return to the WWE after his current deal is up.

Meanwhile, AEW recently referenced Jericho amid his TV absence amid the ongoing rumors. The company shared a top 10 Blood and Guts moments video on social media. Jericho was also featured in the following video compilation, as he can be seen taking a swing on the top of the cage from Claudio Castagnoli from the 2022 Blood and Guts match around the 2:00 minute mark:

WWE legend feels Chris Jericho's work in AEW is done

Chris Jericho was one of the first wrestlers signed by AEW during the company's inception back in 2019. He has spent over six years there and helped the promotion grow as well. However, the WWE legend, Bully Ray (fka Bubba Ray Dudley) believes that Jericho's work in Tony Khan's promotion is done now.

Speaking on Busted Open Radio, Bully Ray said that Y2J should finish his career in the WWE:

"In my opinion, Jericho's work in AEW is done. There's nothing left for him to do there. He has been as credible as an in-ring wrestler as he has been a sports entertainer (...) It's time for Chris Jericho to move on and finish out his career, if he wants to finish out his career, in the company that made him the biggest star ever, which is the WWE," Bully Ray said.

Only time will tell what the future has in store for the 54-year-old legend.
