AEW star Britt Baker reacts after Sammy Guevara and Tay Melo welcome new member to their family

AEW star Britt Baker has been absent from the promotion for over a year. Many are wondering what is stopping her from returning to TV. Her last match took place in November 2024. She recently commented on Sammy Guevara and Tay Melo after the couple bought themselves a gift during Christmas.

2025 was a great year for Sammy and Tay. The Spanish God had multiple title wins throughout the year and even turned heel later in 2025. Meanwhile, Melo returned to the promotion after a long period. She has made a major impact on the women's tag team division alongside Anna Jay, but failed to become the first-ever AEW Women's World Tag Team Champions.

Recently, Sammy Guevara and Tay Melo took to Instagram and shared their Christmas snaps. The duo also revealed that they adopted a new puppy.

Baker commented on the post as she seemed excited for the family's new member.

Tony Khan on Britt Baker's current AEW status

The former AEW Women's World Champion allegedly had multiple backstage issues in 2024. She was even suspended from the promotion for a few days. It was reported that Tony Khan had enough of her in late 2024 and therefore the AEW President took her off TV. In October 2025, he talked about Britt.

While speaking on Z100 New York, Tony Khan said Dr D.M.D. will return to the Jacksonville-based promotion soon.

It remains to be seen if the former AEW Women's World Champion returns to the squared circle in 2026.
