Ex-NFL quarterback Cam Newton left fans feeling uncomfortable with his Christmas post on social media. On X, his podcast's page, called the "4th & 1," shared a photo of the 2015 NFL MVP wishing everyone on the occasion.

In the photo, Cam Newton was wearing a Christmas-themed sweater. It contained a quote that read:

"Kiss me under the Mistletoe."

However, below the text, there was an arrow pointing toward the former quarterback's groin area, turning it into an NSFW greeting.

Newton began his NFL career after the Carolina Panthers drafted him with the first overall pick in the 2011 NFL draft. During this 10-season stint, he led them to four playoff appearances.

The Panthers also competed in Super Bowl 50 with Newton as their starting quarterback. However, they ultimately suffered a disappointing 24-10 loss to the Denver Broncos. In March 2020, the ex-quarterback was released by the team, after which he signed a one-year deal with the Patriots.

He was released in August 2021 after the team selected Mac Jones in the first round of the draft. Newton competed with him for the QB1 job but was let go during the final roster cut. He then re-signed with the Panthers and split playing time with P.J. Walker.

During his 11-season stint, Cam Newton tallied 32,382 yards and 194 TDs passing. He has not yet announced his official retirement despite not playing in the league since 2021.

Cam Newton shares his honest thoughts on DK Metcalf's suspension and impact on his $45 million guaranteed money

DK Metcalf got into a physical confrontation with a fan during the Pittsburgh Steelers' 29-24 victory over the Detroit Lions. Following this incident, the NFL decided to suspend the WR for two games. This means that Metcalf will not be available for the remainder of the season.

Apart from this, CBS Sports reported that this suspension also voids the $45 million in future guaranteed money that Metcalf was supposed to make. On the "Closed on Sundays with Pat and Terrion," Cam Newton came forward to talk about this situation and the way the league handles interaction between players and fans.

"That's why I've challenged leagues to bro you got to put buffers in place for both sides, because it would have took somebody to say DK was not wrong," Newton said. "I heard the man make a racial slur. I heard this man call his mom a c word. "I heard this man saying everything thatt DK was saying, and then it would have been forgiven. But now that we have a situation where it's a his word versus that word, the leagues is going to take the fans, the fans way because it's all about the fan experience, which is cool. But now you're villainizing the players."

The Steelers' final two games are against the Browns and the Ravens. They are currently sitting in first place in the AFC North with a 9-6 record.
